RNT 2
RNT 2
Low ohmic values, extremely high energy pulses
The RNT is a resistance with strip wrapped edgeways on ceramic brackets mounted on a metal tie rod or threated ceramic tube. Thanks to this construction the thermal resistance is very low: the strip is in fact free to exchange heat with the surrounding air very effectively. Even in terms of the heat capacity the RNT ensures very high performances. The RNT series does not provide default ohmic values or predetermined resistive alloys. For this reason, you must contact the sales department to request a special quotation: sales@fairfild.com.

In what sectors is this resistance used?
The main areas of application are industrial automation and the railway sector. For what types of applications is it used?
The product is used: as a dynamic braking resistor, as motor starting resistance and as protection from surges. What are the electrical specifications?
The RNP family provides for 9 models with power ratings from 457 W to 2804 W depending on the strip used. The ohmic value varies from 0.051 Ω to 4.27 Ω. The maximum voltage of use is 600 V for RNT 2,3,4,5,6 and 1000 V for RNT 700, 900, 1000, 1100.What are the overload conditions?
The resistance can be overloaded with respect to its nominal power based on the working cycle (insertion and rest time). For duration pulse less than one second, the overload permissible also depends on the ohmic value. See the data sheet for more information. What is the temperature of the resistance?
The temperature of the resistance depends on the power that it will dissipate and on the ohmic value. In the data sheet shows the amount of power which can be dissipated considering the temperature of the wire equal to 600°C. Many other factors affect the ability of dissipation; please consult our technical data sheet for detailed information.HELP DESK
